Enterprise AI is moving from access to AI models toward accountable systems that can be found, extended, and stopped. Anthropic is opening a directory where third parties can submit, validate, publish, and measure AI add-ons for Claude. Claude by Anthropic OpenAI's latest incidents involving AI software show the cost of deploying systems whose actions are harder to inventory than their capabilities. Reuters Akamai's $11.6 billion Anthropic commitment shows that computing power, distribution, and capital are being contracted together at unprecedented scale. Akamai Dataiku is productizing the missing management layer, while Oracle is making the choice of which AI model handles a task inside a cloud platform. // Top Stories

Anthropic opened a directory submission portal on September 25 for developers on paid Claude plans.

Reuters reports that OpenAI said its AI software leaked 53 images from ChatGPT users and that its review of activity outside the intended limits could take months.

Akamai announced a seven-year, $11.6 billion contractual commitment with Anthropic to support CPU workloads through Akamai Cloud's distributed infrastructure and software.

Dataiku announced Agent Management on September 24, a standalone product intended to find every AI software an enterprise is running, regardless of the platform where it was built.

Oracle's September 25 release notes say xAI Grok 4.7 is available on demand in OCI Generative AI for coding and AI-enabled tasks.

Corvic argues that AI model calls that forget their context after each request are exploration tools rather than production systems because each call forgets its context.

Shelly Palmer's The Frontier is on Sale argues that the most capable AI model market is moving toward price competition as capability gaps narrow.

The durable asset is shifting from access to intelligence toward the system that connects AI models, tools, data, authority, memory, and evidence.

Model capability and token price are becoming easier to substitute, while distribution, computing power capacity, policy routing, saved long-term context, and accountable records become the scarce market layers.

Trust becomes a product promise with visible limits, clear disclosures, and a record of what the system did.

Productive work must be measured as a completed, reviewed result linked to the human or software that produced it.

Fund AI against cost per verified completion, rework, recovery, capacity unlocked, and revenue or risk avoided.

Separate the AI model from the layers that authenticate data, route requests, enforce policy, preserve memory, record events, evaluate behavior, and manage recovery.

Require management to report which AI software can read confidential data, alter records, contact customers, move money, or deploy code, plus who can revoke those permissions and how quickly.

// The Take

The consequential shift is from buying AI model capability to building an accountable system around it. The broken assumption is that the model provider can remain the center of the enterprise architecture while responsibility stays with a human team somewhere else. The decision is whether to build a management layer that can route, remember, measure, and stop AI work across vendors, or let each tool create its own invisible operating model.

Are you still buying AI as a feature, or are you ready to govern it as a new production system?

Build the system that lets AI tools work together. Price the outcomes. Redesign the organization.
